Getting Started
You have accepted your offer and are now ready to study at the University of Adelaide, congratulations! So, what next?
Sometimes it's hard to know where to start, we are here to help, and we will be with you every step of the way. Follow the steps below to begin.
Activate your student account
As a new student you will receive a student ID number, also known as your username, in your welcome email. You will need this number to activate your account and setup your password.
To activate your account and start accessing the University's online services:
- Open manage your account
- Select 'activate account'
- Follow the steps to activate your account and set your password

Enrolments

New students
Now you have your ID number and password, you can access EnrolMe to help you through the process of completing your enrolment. You'll be prompted to setup multi-factor authentication with Okta Verify before you login for the first time.
We recommend you complete the first few steps as soon as possible. You will only be able to enrol in classes once they are open. -
Continuing students
If you are enrolling again, EnrolMe guides you through all the steps required to enrol with The University of Adelaide. Helping you to setup your University services, plan and enrol in courses and get/update your student ID card.

Preparing to arrive
Before you travel to Australia, there are a few things you need to consider.
Preparing to arrive has information that might be relevant to you, like arrivals and customs, immigration and visas, etc.

Adelaide Metro student concession eligibility
Full-time, on campus students are eligible to receive concession fares on public Adelaide Metro services in South Australia. You must present your student card when buying a ticket and always carry your student card and ticket with you whilst travelling.
Full-time online and correspondence students will need to apply for a transport concession card. For more information please phone 1800 667 110 or visit the Adelaide Metro website.

ID Card Request
The University of Adelaide issues identification cards to students as proof of enrolment.
Your card may entitle you to the following:
- access to buildings
- access to printing and photocopying facilities
- computer suite access
- borrowing rights in our libraries and affiliated libraries
- identification during examinations
- travel concessions (full-time students only)
- other student discounts
Checklist
- Accept your offer

- Enrolment checklist
- Get study plan or seek enrolment advice
- Plan your timetable
- Get your ID card
- Register for your Orientation events
- Complete the Safer Campus Community consent matters module
- Log in and familiarise yourself with CareerHub
CareerHub is free for University of Adelaide students. On this platform you will find jobs and internship opportunities, resources and guides, events, and workshops and more. You can access CareerHub with your Student ID until 12 months post-graduation.
There are three things that will stay with you during your study:
- your student number - your unique identification number for the University of Adelaide
- your student ID card - used for identification on university campuses and at exams, student concession, as a library card, follow me printing and photocopying, and as an access card to University buildings (for on campus only)
- your username and password
